Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion

Longford International College’s Pledge to Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI)

Longford International College’s EDI Declaration

At Longford International College, we deeply value and prioritise equality, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) for every community member, be it staff or learners. We believe that embracing EDI across all facets of the College and throughout our various campuses enriches our governance and fosters a positive, inclusive environment for everyone.
This dedication is not just a statement but is actively endorsed by our board of directors, Management Council, and the entire college staff. By fostering a diverse and inclusive atmosphere, we aim to create a space that offers equal opportunities and paves the way for everyone’s success. To ensure we remain true to our EDI goals, we continuously review and refine our policies, practices, and overall institutional ethos.
Our commitment to EDI is comprehensive, covering all nine grounds of equality: gender, civil status, family status, age, disability, sexual orientation, race, religion, and affiliation with the Traveller community.
Longford International College pledges to:

• Advocate for a deep understanding and respect for EDI in our community.
• Integrate EDI principles into our operational, managerial, and administrative structures.
• Guarantee equal opportunities for access, growth, and advancement for everyone.
• Adopt teaching and evaluation methods that are sensitive to and supportive of EDI.
• Engage proactively in both national and international EDI movements.
• Share and promote the latest best practices related to EDI for the betterment of our staff and learners.

The EDI Task Force at Longford International College
Longford International College has inaugurated a specialised Task Force to ensure our commitment to EDI is actionable and ever-evolving. This group’s primary role is to nurture, guide, and expand the college’s EDI culture. With a direct reporting line to the Management Council and the Management Board, the Task Force ensures that new opportunities and needs related to EDI are promptly recognised and addressed.
